Partial Victory for Journalist Vinod Yadav in Protest Against Illegal Construction in Basai-Virar
Mumbai:Palghar:Vinod Yadav, the Palghar District President of the Ideal Patrakar Sanghatan, achieved partial success in his ongoing protest—including dharna agitation and hunger strike—against unauthorized construction activities under the jurisdiction of the Basai-Virar Municipal Corporation.In response to Yadav’s movement, several senior leaders of the organization, including National President Ajay Kumar Mishra, Union Joint Secretary Jamuna Chavan, State Liaison Chief Bharat Kumar Bhanushali, and senior Virar journalist and District Custodian Suresh Jaiswal, made a sudden visit to the protest site.The delegation immediately sought a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Deepak Sawant of the Basai-Virar Municipal Corporation. During the discussion, the senior office bearers warned the Deputy Commissioner that any harm caused to journalist Vinod Yadav would be deemed the responsibility of the municipal administration.Deputy Commissioner Sawant presented official documentation and assured the delegation of prompt action. As a result, he deputed Ward Officer Nilesh Mhatre and Engineer Akshay Thakur to visit the protest site and initiate appropriate measures.Additionally, Prakash Kawale, the officer in charge of the concerned police station, appealed to Vinod Yadav to call off his hunger strike and agitation.Following these developments, District Custodian Suresh Jaiswal, journalist Vinod Yadav, National President Ajay Kumar Mishra, and the Central Joint Secretary acknowledged the beginning of official action by the municipal authorities.This preliminary response is being viewed as a symbolic victory for journalist Vinod Yadav and the Ideal Patrakar Sanghatan in their fight against unauthorized construction and civic negligence.
