Azamgarh:Collectorate Square Turned Into a Cantonment, Police Accused of Facilitating Illegal Occupation in Land Dispute

Azamgarh. The police department was shaken after receiving information about a self-immolation threat from Harivansh Mishra, the District Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party. A large police force, including the City Inspector General, was deployed at the scene. The entire Collectorate was transformed into a cantonment. The City Inspector General was busy trying to persuade BJP District President Harivansh Mishra. Mishra explained that the matter involved a piece of land located in village Kyampur, under the Rani Ki Sarai police station area. On the orders of the District Magistrate, the Tehsil administration conducted a measurement in the presence of the Deputy Tehsildar, Law Officer, Accountant, and police, identifying the land in question. Despite this, it is alleged that the land is being illegally occupied. The victim, Harivansh Mishra, alleges that the Rani Ki Sarai police station in-charge is acting under the influence of the opposition. He claims that his brother, Ishwar Sharan Mishra, was taken to the police station several times and humiliated. On January 8th, at around 11 am, the police force arrived at the scene and attempted to take possession of the land. When the victim cited the report of the Lekhpal and Kanungo, the station in-charge refused to accept it. The victim says that the Deputy District Magistrate had previously assured that no one would encroach on the site, yet action was taken. He alleged that the police administration is siding with the opposition and his brother has been detained at the police station. Harivansh Mishra said that due to the continuous lack of hearing and harassment, he is mentally extremely hurt and is forced to commit suicide. Currently, there is a tense situation at the Collectorate intersection. The police administration is trying to persuade BJP District Vice President Harivansh Mishra.
